DALLAS, Texas— The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO), led by Music Director Fabio Luisi, has announced the appointment of three new musicians for the 2024/25 concert season. The new members include Hyunjoo Choo as Assistant Concertmaster, Marci Gurnow as Bass/Utility Clarinet, and Robert Greer as Associate Principal Librarian.
Hyunjoo Choo, who is joining as Assistant Concertmaster, earned her doctoral degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician internationally and has won multiple prestigious awards, including the Enrico Costa Prize at the Paganini International Violin Competition.
Marci Gurnow, appointed as Bass/Utility Clarinet, previously served with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as second clarinetist and acting Associate Principal. A founding member of the Merian Ensemble, Gurnow is also an advocate for chamber works by women and holds degrees from Southern Methodist University and Northwestern University.
Robert Greer, a DFW native, has been promoted to Associate Principal Librarian. Greer has been with the DSO since 2018 as an Assistant Librarian and has over 15 years of experience with the Fort Worth Symphony. He is an active Major Orchestra Librarians’ Association member and a leader in advancing technology within symphony orchestras.
